Our mission is to leverage every opportunity in providing services to the mining and civils industries for the betterment of Aboriginal people so that we can take control of our own destiny.

Company owners Katrina Stubbs and Rowena Leslie have worked in the mining contracting and civil works industry for 15 years. As directors of Kai Rho Contracting, their aim, since founding the progressive company in December 2013, is simple: to provide a professional civil and mining service to government and industry that directly benefits the local Aboriginal community.

Kai Rho began in 2013 as a dry hire machinery company and through the development and implementation of a conscious business plan it has achieved milestones making it possible to now own a fleet of machinery with a staff of skilled operators servicing contracts to mining giant AngloGold Ashanti, newly established Iron Ore miners Fenix Resources, and Goldfields Rural Network Contractors DM Roads.

Kai Rho have developed a unique set of HR processes that has been cultivated over their years of work and intrinsic knowledge of their community. Kai Rho Contracting is able to fulfil a client’s need to meet productivity targets.

“We aim to bring together the local mining and civil works industry with the Aboriginal communities through long term sustainable contracts. These sort of contracts are a vessel of economic empowerment and social impact investment while allowing the client to meet its shareholder financial, OHSEQ and social-engagement targets. It’s a win-win-win solution.”

We want our clients to get more than just a reliable and safely supplied service when they engage Kai Rho Contracting. We want them to experience the direct impact of empowering local Aboriginal people by working with us.
— Rowena Leslie, Chief Executive Officer
