At a Perth presentation to more than 250 guests from across the mining and resource industry Rowena Leslie shared her insights on the many benefits her Aboriginal business offers in building the skills and confidence of Aboriginal employees. Here’s just one of her comments.
“As an Aboriginal business owner I feel like we are a conduit to empowering our community. In an Aboriginal business, our employees have the confidence in themselves to make a mistake and learn from it because they don’t have the weight of years of negative stereotype on their shoulders. When you empower people, they in turn are able to empower those around them.”
